San Diego Day 3

Today was our catch up day. Mike and I thought we would get some more time on the beach and a lazy day at the pool. Well, the kids had other ideas.
First, we rented a quad bike from the hotel. We could go anywhere on the property of the hotel which is quite a work out. We had the bike for an hour and it was really fun.Brooke could have sat in the little basket in the front but, she was not having very much fun in the uncomfortable seat and she just wanted to pedal the bike. So, Mike and I took turns driving.
Here are just a few more pictures of the scenes of our fabNext we went and played on the beach for a while and then the pool. The kids were dying to head back to Sea World and catch a few more shows that are only done at night and some rides.
We hit the rides first and did not make it onto the last one (a wet one) until 4:30 but, the time we got off soaking wet it had cooled off quite a bit. So, first thing was get our sweatshirts our of the locker and put them on and get our wet shirts off. Brooke was shivering so we bought her a Shamu towel ( which she had been begging for the last 2 days) and Mike did not bring a sweatshirt so he bought one. Then we had back to back shows till 10 o'clock.
The first one was Cirque De La Mer an acrobatic show of course on the water to even colder. LOL! It was amazing and the pics did not turn out great because I was facing the sun.The opener for this show was 2 clowns that were getting the audience involved. Brooke loved them--she just kept laughing and when they popped up in the show now and again she forgot everything else. Her entire focus was on what they were doing. It was cute.
This guy is only hanging on to the pole (which would bend a bit) by his hands. They did all kinds of tricks to music on these poles and in sequence with each other. There were several of these guys.
I don't know if you can tell this one is 2 men and they were incredible. All they used was each other to do these amazing stunts. We were baffled.
Next, we hit the Sea Lion and Walrus show. This was a comical show and they made fun of all the other shows and things at Sea World it was so funny.
The opener for this show was Biff and he made the show seriously. Here he is lip syncing to Beat it by Michael Jackson and he kept doing this as the radio would change. The best was when he came out looking like Lady Gaga in that awful outfit that you just don't know what the heck she is wearing. LOL! The kids loved this show!!
Oh, Guess what I have a video of this very scene.Next, we did some souvenir shopping while we waited for the Shamu Rocks show at 9:30.
We were so cold by this point and the stadium was very inviting. They played rock music while we waited for the show to start. They had the jumbo screen on and were showing the usual clips of the people in the stadium. Guess who was on the screen. Yep us. The kids got a real kick out of it.Here are a few video clips of the show. In the first one, we are trying to hold up the before mentioned Shamu towel to avoid getting splashed. We were very lucky!!
The kids loved this part of the show with the Mom and Baby Whales.
Immediately after the show they did the fireworks. Yes, we finally got to see our fireworks show. It was a perfect ending to a perfect day.
